In Short
The view alone makes the Blick Bar in the Elbphilharmonie something special. From its unique location, you can look out over the harbor and large parts of the city while enjoying a drink in an elegant setting. The atmosphere becomes especially memorable in the evening, when the lights slowly come on and Hamburg reveals a completely different side from above.
First Things First: Here’s a Tip for Your Visit!
An insider tip for anyone who wants to enjoy this special place: it’s worth keeping an eye on the performance schedule at the Elbphilharmonie. It can get especially busy right before and after shows, so if you prefer a more relaxed evening, try to avoid those peak times.
Price and Taste
Yes, the prices at Blick Bar are a little higher, but given its spectacular location inside the Elbphilharmonie, that hardly comes as a surprise. You are not only paying for excellent drinks and food, but also for the overall experience that comes with the visit.

The Art of Cocktails
The menu features creative cocktails, delicious wines, and a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. That evening, we decided to go for the following:
- Elphi Spritz – Canonita, fresh lemon juice, homemade blackberry syrup, Prosecco, Botanical Tonic (€14)
- Beats – rum infused with beetroot, homemade carrot and rosemary syrup, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, orange bitters, Dry Curaçao, beetroot foam (€19)
- Tequila Sunset – tequila infused with butterfly pea tea, orange juice, grenadine (€17)
- Jasmine Pearls Tea (€9.50)
- Cappuccino (€6)
We especially enjoyed the Elphi Spritz, a house favorite that offers a refreshing change from the classic Aperol Spritz. The drinks are very well balanced, so the alcohol never feels too dominant. Our absolute favorite, however, was the Tequila Sunset: fruity without being overly sweet, and it looks fantastic too!
Culinary Highlights

It’s not just the drinks, the food at Blick Bar is really impressive too. Everything we ordered looked beautifully presented. Here’s what we went for:
- North Sea Shrimp Brioche with tarragon, remoulade, and celery chutney (€15)
- Serrano Ham with pickled cucumbers (€9)
- Gemelli Pasta with beetroot sauce, marinated beetroot, feta, arugula, and walnuts (€35)
- Chocolate, Mango & Caramel Tart (€8.50)
- Chinese Five-Spice Chocolate Mousse with pear and chocolate sponge (€15)

Then The Bohemian is definitely worth checking out!
The shrimp brioche was absolutely delicious, even though it felt a little small for the price. The pasta was perfectly cooked and really tasty. For me, it was slightly too sweet, but the feta and walnuts balanced that out really well. The pickled cucumbers also had an unusual sweetness, which worked surprisingly well together with the Serrano ham.
The chocolate tart at the end was incredibly creamy, and we honestly couldn’t get enough of it. The subtle mango note added the perfect touch of freshness. The chocolate mousse was heavenly as well. Not only was it, in our opinion, the best-looking dish of the evening, but it also tasted wonderfully fluffy and chocolatey.
Evening Atmosphere
As the sun sets and the city lights begin to glow, Blick Bar takes on a truly special atmosphere. The ambient lighting creates a setting that invites you to slow down, stay a little longer, and simply enjoy the moment. In this atmosphere, the drinks and food somehow taste even better, while the view over Hamburg turns into an unforgettable experience.
Spend a Wonderful Evening at Blick Bar
Blick Bar in the Elbphilharmonie is not only about spectacular views, but also a place to enjoy delicious drinks and dishes. It’s a must for anyone who wants to experience Hamburg from one of its most beautiful sides.
