1. Discover Hamburg From the Water: Rent a Boat
Experiencing Hamburg from the water is absolutely great! You can easily rent a pedal boat, SUP, canoe or even a water bike from one of the many boat rental places. We only paid €30 for a pedal boat for four people for two hours – a fair price! Enjoy the ride under the many bridges, across the Außenalster and watch the many little animals on the water. It’s an amazing experience that you shouldn’t miss.
2. Walk Along the Harbor: The Classic
A walk along the harbor should definitely be on your Hamburg list. Get off at Landungsbrücken and walk towards the Elbphilharmonie along the Jan-Federrer-Promenade. If you feel like climbing a few stairs, visit the “Bei der Erholung” viewpoint right next to the Landungsbrücken subway station. From there you have a great view of the harbor and the Elbe.
3. The Elbphilharmonie: A Hamburg Landmark
A visit to the Elbphilharmonie is a must on the way along the harbor. Whether with a concert ticket or simply on the free balcony – the Elbphilharmonie is not one of Hamburg’s most beautiful landmarks for nothing. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the city and the Elbe and be inspired by the impressive architecture.
4. Culinary Voyage of Discovery: Hamburg’s Gastronomy Scene
Hamburg’s gastronomy scene is unique and offers an incredible variety of great restaurants. Whether it’s Asian cuisine, classic Nordic fare or Italian specialties – you’ll find everything your heart desires in Hamburg. 5. Spectacular Viewpoints: Hamburg From Above
Hamburg has many great viewpoints to offer. The balcony of the Elbphilharmonie concert hall is a good place to start, but by no means the only one. The view from the historic Michel is definitely worth the entrance fee. There are also fantastic rooftop bars such as HERITAGE with a view of the Außenalster or Clouds. Whether you view Hamburg from the mainland, from the water or from the air, the city offers breathtaking views from every perspective.
