In Short
Picnic in Hamburg? Definitely a great date idea for the summer – if you know where to get good takeaway boxes. We tested the breakfast box from Café Dailycioso on a sunny morning, grabbed two matcha lattes and headed to the city park. The result: wonderfully uncomplicated, delicious and definitely a plan that we will repeat.
Breakfast Outside can be so Easy
Who says you always have to sit in a café? The city is full of green oases – Stadtpark, Alsterufer, Jenischpark, Planten un Blomen – and just as full of stores that offer breakfast to go. Pre-order a box, get a cold drink, grab a blanket and off you go. Ideal for a date, a meeting with friends or a spontaneous mini-vacation with the family – in the middle of Hamburg.
What’s Inside the Box
We opted for the breakfast box from Café Dailycioso (€39.90 for two people) and also took two matcha lattes with us. In the box:
- Two filled bagels
- One Portuguese croissant
- One butter croissant
- One bread roll
- Two natas
- Yogurt with granola & fresh fruit
- Two freshly squeezed orange juices
Everything fresh, everything well packed, everything ready for the picnic blanket.
Food, Sun & Conversation
The city park was the perfect spot: spacious, quiet, plenty of room, a bit of shade if you want it. The box contains exactly what you need outside – uncomplicated but good food. The bagels were hearty, the croissants buttery, the yogurt fresh and not too sweet. Natas are a must when they’re around anyway. Plus the orange juice – not a concentrate, but freshly squeezed – and matcha with a slightly sweet note. Perfect.
More Picnic in Hamburg
Hamburg has more than enough places for such a breakfast in the countryside. The breakfast box was not the first one we tried – and certainly not the last. The idea is simple, but it works: pick up your food, find your favorite spot and get started. If you’re not a fan of the classic café visit or just want something different – just the thing.
