In Short
Imagine stepping through a door and finding yourself in the middle of a painting. Huge works of art flow across walls and floors, music fills the room, colors dance to the beat, and you are right in the middle of it all. Welcome to Port des Lumières, Hamburg’s digital art experience covering over 1,700 m² of exhibition space! Whether you’re an art fan, out with the family, or just want to experience something completely different, this exhibition will amaze you. And the best part? It’s weather-independent, super centrally located, and an experience for all ages.
A Visual Adventure in Two Acts
At Port des Lumières, you don’t just experience art — you become part of it. Spread over two floors, an immersive experience awaits you, where classic works are reinterpreted using state-of-the-art projection technology.
Two major exhibitions are currently running:
“Klimt & Hundertwasser – The Immersive Experience”: Here, Gustav Klimt’s ornamental works merge with Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s colorful visions. Golden Art Nouveau motifs flow across the walls, accompanied by atmospheric music.
“Destination Cosmos – The Immersive Space Experience”: Want to take off into space? Then this show is just the thing for you! Astronomy meets aesthetics – with spectacular images of planets, galaxies, and NASA missions.
The projections run in a loop, so you can join in at any time. What’s particularly cool is that you can move freely through the rooms, stop, sit down, and marvel.
