In Short
Sometimes, all it takes is a single step through a doorway and Hamburg suddenly feels very far away. That was exactly the feeling we had at Le Marrakech. Surrounded by countless lamps, colorful details, and the aroma of oriental spices, the experience feels more like a short getaway than a dinner at a restaurant in the Hanseatic city. The cuisine complements the atmosphere perfectly, delighting with rich flavors without ever feeling overwhelming. It’s a place that not only makes a visual impression but also has plenty to offer from a culinary perspective.
Arrive, be Amazed, Immerse Yourself
Even the entrance to Le Marrakech sparks curiosity. Housed in a former industrial hall, the restaurant surprises visitors from the moment they step inside with a setting unlike any other. Across a vast space, an entire world has been created that evokes the atmosphere of traditional Moroccan courtyards.
What stands out most is the attention to detail. Intricate lamps hang from the ceilings everywhere, small lights create a warm and inviting ambiance, and every corner seems filled with unique decorations. You hardly know where to look first. Whether indoors or outdoors, there is always something new to discover.
Vacation Vibes on the Terrace
The terrace, in particular, completely won us over. Surrounded by plants, lights, and oriental furnishings, you forget within minutes that you’re actually still in Hamburg. The atmosphere feels relaxed, lively, and at the same time wonderfully cozy. The indoor area is just as impressive. Here, the feeling of a traditional bazaar meets that of a restaurant, making you feel as though you’ve stepped into another world. Anyone looking for something truly special will feel right at home here.

A Flavor Explosion with Finesse
While the drinks didn’t completely win us over overall, the food was an absolute success. The Raspberry Spritz was our favorite drink of the evening. Unfortunately, the Le Marrakech Spritz couldn’t quite keep up and felt a little flat in terms of flavor. Thankfully, the dishes more than made up for it.
Even the olives were so delicious that we could have happily ordered them on repeat all evening. We also loved the Mini Mezze. The selection of small dishes, which can be mixed and matched to your liking, is perfect for sharing and provides a wonderfully varied start to the meal.
The kitchen also demonstrated its skillful use of oriental spices in the main courses. The flavors were bold and distinctive, yet never overwhelming. The falafel were perfectly crispy, the hummus wonderfully creamy, and the Crispy Cauliflower proved that vegetables can easily take center stage on a plate. The Taco Shawarma Chicken added delicious smoky, roasted flavors and was an absolute highlight for us.
Our Verdict
Le Marrakech is one of those restaurants you visit for more than just the food. Here, atmosphere and cuisine come together to create an experience that stays with you long after your visit. The setting is simply great and makes you feel far away. While the drinks didn’t impress us across the board, the kitchen more than made up for that small shortcoming. If you’re looking for oriental cuisine, an extraordinary atmosphere, and an evening that truly feels like a getaway, Le Marrakech should definitely be on your list.
