The Ascent: Effort or Comfort?
To get to the viewing platform, you have to climb a few steps. But don’t worry, most of the way is covered by a fast elevator that will take you to the top in no time at all. A View Over Hamburg
Once at the top, you have a breathtaking view over the whole of Hamburg. The harbor, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall and many other sights lie at your feet. Although the platform is not huge, there is enough space to enjoy the view to the full.
Crypt and Combination Tickets
A visit to the crypt costs €6 individually, but you can also purchase a combined ticket for the tower and the crypt for €10. This gives you the opportunity to explore both the history of the church and the fascinating tombs. Of course, there are discounts for certain groups and children.

Michelwiese: A Place to Relax
After your visit to the Michel, it’s worth making a detour to the Michelwiese, which is just one street away. This beautiful little park is a quiet place in the middle of the city and very close to the harbor. People barbecue, sunbathe and play ball here. A large, round fountain and steps in between create a pleasant ambience, while modern buildings form an interesting contrast to the old buildings such as the Michel.
