In Short
Who would have thought that you could travel to France for a few hours in the middle of Altona? La Crème de la Crêpe brings exactly this feeling – French charm meets relaxed Hamburg. Although it’s usually all about crêpes and galettes here, we were there for a different reason: All You Can Eat Raclette. Yes, that’s right – melted cheese until you can’t eat any more! Read on to find out whether it’s worth it, how it tasted and whether we would come back again.
Street Art Meets French Bistro Atmosphere
Before we could even try the food, we were immediately struck by the special atmosphere of the neighborhood. The restaurant is located on Erzbergerstraße, a street full of graffiti and other paintings. However, the restaurant itself has a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The walls are decorated with small French details and relaxed music plays in the background.

Note: If you value fresh air, you should be prepared for the intense smell of food. The combination of freshly baked crêpes and melted raclette cheese makes for rather stuffy air. Even with the window open, it will eventually become a real cloud of cheese smells – not for sensitive noses.
The Raclette Offer: Cheese Fans get Their Money’s Worth
La Crème de la Crêpe is normally known for its French crêpes, but in winter there is an All You Can Eat Raclette offer for €23.90 per person. The perfect opportunity to fill your belly with cheese!
What is included in the raclette?
- Raclette cheese
- Potatoes
- Corn
- Pickles
- Eggplant
- Zucchini
- Fried onions
- Peppers
Optional: Meat (dried salami, cooked ham and other types of sausage) for €14.50 (for 2 people).
A little tip: If you want to make sure that everything runs smoothly, you should book in advance.
This way, the restaurant can better prepare for the raclette.
Cheese, Potatoes and More Cheese – Our Taste Test
As soon as the raclette cheese is on the table, there’s no stopping it. We started straight away, potatoes in the pan, cheese on top – a classic that always works. The side dishes were well chosen and varied.

The highlights:
- The eggplant and zucchini go perfectly with the melted cheese and give the whole dish a light Mediterranean touch.
- The fried onions add a delicious crunch and provide a pleasant spiciness.
- The pickles and sweetcorn are a matter of taste – you either love them or simply leave them out.
After eating our first round, we couldn’t resist and ordered a second portion of cheese. After all, you don’t go to an All You Can Eat to stop after the first plate!
If you opt for the sausage platter, you also get a good portion of meat. The dried salami had a pleasant spiciness, the cooked ham was tender and the rest of the sausages rounded things off nicely. However, if you’re happy with the vegetarian version, you don’t really need the extra meat.
Value for Money: Good Cheese, but a Little Expensive
Now for the big question: Is the raclette for €23.90 per person worth it? On the one hand: Yes, because it’s all you can eat! You can really indulge in as much cheese and vegetables as you like, and that alone is an argument for cheese lovers. On the other hand: the price feels a little high, considering that there are no overly special ingredients. The sides are tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary – no fine ham, no mushrooms, no special dips. We also found €14.50 for the sausage platter for two people rather expensive, especially because this is not All You Can Eat. The quality was good, but for the price we would perhaps have liked one or two extras.

Service: Friendly, but With Waiting Times
The service at La Crème de la Crêpe is consistently super friendly and attentive. You can tell that the team is passionate about what they do, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. BUT: The restaurant was quite full on our evening, and unfortunately this was noticeable in the waiting time. It took us a little too long between orders. That’s okay, considering that raclette requires a bit of preparation, but as nothing really needed to be cooked for us, we would have expected it to be a little quicker.

Conclusion: Raclette with French Flair, but with Minor Flaws
All in all, we had a great evening and ate our fill. The All You Can Eat Raclette is a great idea for cheese fans who like to try different combinations. The restaurant itself is charming, the atmosphere unique – but there are a few points to bear in mind.
Would we come back again? Very likely! But next time we want to try the crêpes and galettes – after all, that’s the real specialty of La Crème de la Crêpe.
By the way: You can get really good and authentic crêpes at Ti Breizh at Deichstraße!
