A Menu that Excites

For all fish lovers, the Underdocks is a true paradise. The traditional fish roll is interpreted innovatively and presented in a new way. Instead of a boring wheat roll, Underdocks offers a toasted spelt roll with sesame seeds. The sauces are homemade and the choice of filling for the bun is big! Vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for: From vegetarian fish sticks to vegan Green Tiger prawns.

A Special Kind of Taste Experience

At Underdocks, it’s clear that ambience isn’t the only thing that’s important here – the taste of the dishes is definitely in the foreground. The Grilled Lax Taco impressed with its tender salmon, which was perfectly rounded off by the creamy avocado salsa and the smoky BBQ sauce. With the Crispy Tiger Taco‘s Black Tiger shrimp, you immediately felt the freshness of the ingredients, combined with a sweet and spicy chili mayo that added a little something extra. The Black Tiger Taco with its upgrade offered a fiery note from the jalapeños, which went super with the sweet touch of the Amarillo passion fruit mayo.

The highlight, however, was the Vischstäbchen Roll. The vegan fish sticks were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which harmonized perfectly in combination with the crunchy freshness of onions and cucumbers and the vegan remoulade. In addition, the spelt roll was a little buttery and tasted especially delicious due to the toasted flavors. For us, the “new” fish roll is a great interpretation of the classic and is definitely worth its hype!

Bottom Line

Underdocks in St. Pauli definitely convinced us. Not only the creative interior design, but also the fresh taste of the dishes inspired us. Even if it got a little messy a time or two (the Vischstäbchen Roll is not that easy to eat), it was absolutely worth the culinary experience.
