Orders are placed directly at the old trailer, which has been lovingly converted into a coffee bar. If you’re lucky, you can grab a seat in the adjacent wagon, which has also been converted. Inside, you feel like you’re on a road trip somewhere between the tropics and surfer vibes. Alternatively, there are several tables around the perimeter so you can watch the colorful hustle and bustle of the passageway.
Jungle Meets Road Trip Romance
What makes this place truly special are the details. Plants everywhere, little stickers, playful decorative elements, and charming finds. You constantly discover something new — be it a hidden sign, a retro accessory, or a lovely little detail on the wall.
The atmosphere is relaxed, creative, and pleasantly imperfect. That’s exactly what makes it so charming. Add to that the really friendly service, which underscores the relaxed vibe.

Our Order at Camping Coffee
We sampled our way through the sweet offerings:
- Cheesecake with cherry and chocolate – €4.90
- Dried mango with chocolate – €2.50
- Cookie – €3.70
- Green tea – €4.50
- Chai latte – €4.90
- Matcha latte – €4.90
Prices are within the normal range for Hamburg – nothing unusual either way.
Solid Drinks, Sweet Snacks — but the Setting Wins
The green tea was pleasantly aromatic, the chai latte spicy and warming, the matcha latte beautifully green with a slight bitter note – all solid, but not a revolution in taste. The same goes for the snacks: the cheesecake with cherry and chocolate was moist and sweet, the cookie was exactly what you’d expect, and even the hyped dried mango with chocolate was solid.
To be honest, we wouldn’t explicitly recommend Camping Coffee for the food and drinks alone. They’re good, but not the main draw. What really makes this spot special is the feeling it conveys. You sit in an old car, surrounded by plants, with a hot drink in your hand, while downtown Hamburg passes by outside. It’s this special atmosphere that makes a visit here so charming.
