In Short
Heaven’s Gaarden on Eppendorfer Landstraße is not just a coffee shop, it’s a little paradise for connoisseurs! With its simple and modern design, the basketballs on the wall and its warm atmosphere, this place is made for young and old alike!
An Oasis in the Heart of Eppendorf
If you walk along Eppendorfer Landstraße, it’s easy to miss Heaven’s Gaarden, as the store is fairly inconspicuous from the outside. The minimalist interior is complemented by cool details such as basketballs on the wall, giving the coffee shop a unique character. Outside, there is a small but nice seating area where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street. The area is lively, and you’ll see lots of young families either strolling past or taking a quick coffee break.
A Menu that Surprises
For a small coffee shop, the range at Heaven’s Gaarden is surprisingly extensive. There really is something to suit everyone’s taste here. Here is a small selection of our highlights:
- Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Birria Pulled Beef): avocado, gouda, cheddar, nachos and salsa – €15
- Stulle (Eggs Benedict): avocado, lamb’s lettuce, watercress, poached egg, hollandaise sauce – €14
- Daddy’s pancakes with Nutella – €8
- Charitea Green – €5.50
- Matcha Latte – €5.50
- Coffee latte – €5
Cafés in Hamburg that you also shouldn’t miss: Café noé and Ristretto!
Explosions of Flavor on the Plate
We were there at 9:30 in the morning, a perfect time as the café was still relatively empty. Nevertheless, we had to wait a little longer for our food, but it was definitely worth the wait!
The Stulle with Eggs Benedict was an absolute dream. The poached egg was perfect, the hollandaise creamy and the avocado and lamb’s lettuce mix fresh and crunchy. For me, this combination was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had and definitely worth a recommendation!
The Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Birria Pulled Beef was also a highlight. The Mexican specialty, Birria, is not available everywhere and was a real surprise. The spicy taste of the beef in combination with the cheese and fresh avocado was just right for Adrian, even if it had a little too many spices for me.
We also liked Daddy’s Pancakes, although the price of €8 for two pancakes with a little Nutella seems quite high. The taste was very good, although nothing special.
Our Verdict for Heaven’s Gaarden
Heaven’s Gaarden impresses with delicious food, great service and a great location. The prices are a little higher, but you definitely get something special. For a relaxed start to the day or a cozy coffee break, this coffee shop is highly recommended. We will definitely be back!
