Villa Viva – More Than Just a Hotel
If you are not yet familiar with Villa Viva, the hotel is not just any stylish accommodation in Hamburg, but a real project from the heart. On a total of 12.5 floors, it combines a modern hotel concept with social commitment. The entire project is designed to generate funds and awareness for the organization Viva con Agua – with the vision: “Water for all”.
In addition to the RoofDrop Bar, the hotel also houses the Viva Cantina restaurant, several event rooms and 138 individually designed rooms. Here, modern design meets the idea of the common good, which is also reflected in the bar: Low-waste drinks with regional ingredients are the concept.
Stylish & Relaxed – the Ambience
When you enter the RoofDrop Bar, you immediately notice that every detail has been thought of. The interior is modern and minimalist, with elegant seating and a well-stocked bar. There is only a small window front in the bar itself, but this contributes to a very special atmosphere.
The outdoor area is the absolute highlight: you can sit on the terrace with a drink in your hand and enjoy the city lights. Hamburg’s skyline and the passing clouds – every evening becomes a special experience here.
Good to know: No reservations are accepted. If you want to get a seat, you should stop by in good time. But even if it’s full, it’s worth the wait – the view over Hamburg is simply unbeatable!
Drinks & Snacks – Our Choice
This is where creative mixing meets quality. The cocktails are not only exceptional in taste, but also sustainably thought out. We have tried them:
Cocktails:
- Flying Kirsch (gin, lemon, violet syrup, orange bitters, cherry schnapps) – €11
- Pynk Picnic (pisco, mint, sour grapefruit, ginger-lemon oil) – €13
Snacks:
- Rauchmandeln – €4 (40 g)
- Kartoffelchips – €4 (40 g)
- Oliven – €4 (100 g)
The prices are more than fair for the location – we’ve had less exciting drinks for considerably more money in Hamburg!

Taste Test: Cheers to that!
The Flying Kirsch lived up to its name: fruity, slightly tart, with a pleasant sweetness – the perfect cocktail for a relaxed evening. The Pynk Picnic, on the other hand, was a sparkling, refreshing delight with a surprising floral note. Both drinks were not only perfectly balanced in terms of taste, but were also visually on point – stylishly presented with great attention to detail.
They were accompanied by a few delicious snacks. Sure, the selection is not huge, but the quality is impressive. The smoked almonds had just the right amount of salt and a subtle smoky touch and the olives rounded off the whole thing perfectly. Perfect for cocktail snacking and ideal for a relaxed evening without a big dinner.
Conclusion: A Must-Visit in Hamburg!
The RoofDrop Bar is one of those locations that you simply have to put on your Hamburg bucket list. Whether as an after-work spot, for a special evening with friends or simply to enjoy one of the best views in the city with a great drink – everything is just right here.
