In Short

Cute breakfast café in Hamburg with a personal and cozy atmosphere, hand-baked cinnamon buns, ingredients from regional and organic production and good prices. That describes MOHO’s breakfast café in Hamburg. We felt very comfortable and the food and drinks were very tasty. The price-performance ratio especially convinced us. We will come again for a good breakfast in Hamburg!

MOHO’s – Personal and Cozy

Opened in 2019 and still successful with a personal and cozy atmosphere. Mo fled Afghanistan in 2000 and a few years later fulfilled the dream of his own café. You can definitely see the love and passion for this dream in the restaurant. There are sweet sayings all over the walls that make you start your day perfectly. The decoration is stylish and you can see that a lot of thought has been put into it. All in all, the small café looks modern and even has a nice seating area in the courtyard for the summer. Of course, we have collected a few impressions of the breakfast café for you.

We would recommend you to book a table in time. This can be done quite relaxed via a form on the website of MOHO’s. Arriving at the restaurant, we were led to a small table on the side. Here, unfortunately, I must directly note a small criticism: The table did not seem to be wiped after the last customer. Other tables also had small crumbs and stains. This is a pity, because in our opinion this did not fit the ambience of the restaurant.

What did we Choose?

There is something for everyone on the menu. Whether savory or sweet, there is a wide selection of breakfasts, cakes and drinks. The service is also very fast, after only a few minutes, we were allowed to order something. Mo himself helps with the service and shows his passion for his business. We felt very comfortable and everyone was very friendly.

We chose the following that morning:

  • Hot chocolate 3.70 €
  • Custom Smoothie (spinach, banana, avocado, cucumber) 5.50 €
  • Pancakes 9.50 €
  • Bread with avocado pesto 5.20 €

The Taste Test

The hot chocolate was super tasty. Especially for the price, the glass was very large. The smoothie was exactly as I wanted it. Unfortunately, however, it was not cold at all, a little bit of ice would have been great.

MOHO's Avocado Brot

The food was delicious. The bread is already prepared in advance, so you can have a close look at it in the counter at the entrance before you order it. Still, it comes to the table warm and tastes fresh. The presentation is super cute – it is served on a small board with tiny salt and pepper shakers. The only thing that was a little off, was the ingredient coordination with the cress and sprouts. Unfortunately, those two ingredients were primary and drowned out the other ingredients.

The pancakes, on the other hand, were very well matched. These came with fresh fruit, honey and vanilla curd. Even though the consistency of the fluffy batter was fairly unusual, they were very tasty and fresh.

Is it Worth Visiting MOHO’s?

Absolutely! We felt very comfortable and are surprised especially about the good prices. Such a good quality with these prices is hard to find, especially in Hamburg. In addition, the café is run with love and offers a treat for everyone. Many pies are homemade and some food is sourced from organic farming – you can definitely taste that.
