In Short
SOY in Hamburg, hidden yet centrally located on Hoheluftchaussee in Eppendorf, attracts people with its beautiful design and completely vegan menu. Here, you can enjoy authentic Vietnamese dishes that are served like tapas. Whether for lunch or dinner, SOY is something for everyone who wants to enjoy the variety and freshness of vegan cuisine in a cozy and hip atmosphere.
NEWS: The name and concept of the restaurant have now changed a little! SOY is now called Vin Garden.
Beautiful Interior with a Great Atmosphere
Just a few steps from Hoheluftbrücke subway station, you will discover SOY – a real paradise for all vegans, but also for people without a vegan lifestyle. With its inviting atmosphere, high ceilings, large windows and lots of greenery, SOY is a great place to relax and enjoy a tasty meal. Inspired by Vietnamese cuisine, the restaurant combines authentic flavors with a vegan concept similar to that of Spanish tapas.
With different areas separated by small moss walls, Soy offers a cozy yet modern atmosphere. During our visit, we opted for the middle section, which is a little more secluded.
SOY is also available in Munich and Berlin and has recently made it to Hamburg. We were even lucky enough to meet the owner, who is super friendly and likes to chat with guests from time to time.

In addition to the smaller dishes, there are also larger main courses that will leave you full and satisfied. The drinks on the menu also leave nothing to be desired, with a selection of unusual, homemade drinks, two of which we tried:
- Passion Iced Tea: Black tea, passion fruit, chia seeds, passion fruit syrup and lime juice (€5.50)
- Lychee lemonade: Sprite, lychee juice, soda water and mint (€6.50)
For the meal, we opted for a few tapas dishes and a main course:
- GOI CUON – 2 summer rolls with tofu, cucumber, peppers, iceberg lettuce, carrot, shiso leaves and peanut dip (€5.90)
- CHA GIO CHIEN – 2 deep-fried spring rolls with tofu, shiitake, morels, glass noodles, onions, beans, carrots and soy dip (€5.90)

Did we Like it?
Yes, it was very tasty. We really enjoyed all the dishes. From the crispy summer rolls to the soft dumplings, we have nothing but good things to say. For me, the homemade deep-fried spring rolls were an absolute highlight. Adrian couldn’t get enough of the red coconut curry, and I was also impressed by the combination and quality of the ingredients. Incidentally, this applied to all the dishes, the quality of the ingredients was great.
Conclusion
Whether vegan or not, SOY is definitely worth a visit. We found the dishes delicious, and the restaurant is particularly worth a visit at lunchtime, where you can save a lot with the lunch deal. One thing is certain for us: we’ll be back!
