In Short
There are places whose mere location tells a story – the “Süllberg” is one of them. Situated on a small hill, this restaurant offers breathtaking views not only during the day, but also at night, which alone are worth a visit. But as we discovered, it’s not just the views that make the “Süllberg” something special.
Atmosphere and Welcoming
The “Süllberg” may already be enchanting from the outside, but the real experience begins when you enter. The interior combines Austrian charm with Italian flair, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff give every guest a warm welcome. The feeling of being at home, combined with the elegance of a fine restaurant, makes the “Süllberg” a place where you want to linger.
The Culinary Journey: A Menu that Inspires
Our culinary journey of discovery began with a Vitello Tonnato, which impressed with its sous-vide-cooked veal and tasty tuna cream. The baked salt capers and pepper added spicy accents that rounded off the dish perfectly. At a price of €19, it was a little more expensive, but the quality was right.
The beef tartare, prepared from pasture-raised beef with cherry tomatoes, salt capers and colorful pepper for €21, was another highlight. The freshness and quality of the meat was noticeable in every bite.
For our main course, we had cheese spaetzle. A fairly simple dish that we particularly enjoyed for its creaminess and richness. The only contrast was the very crunchy onions, which were a little too hard for us.
We didn’t skimp on the Tagliolini Neri – black tagliatelle in a smooth mascarpone sauce with prawns on a bed of tomatoes for €24. This pasta in the mascarpone sauce was beautifully creamy, and the prawns added a delicious freshness. The tomato sauce also rounded off the dish.
To finish, we had Kaiserschmarrn with rum raisins, apple sauce and powdered sugar for €14. Even as someone who normally avoids raisins, I have to admit: They won me over in this composition.
Find great ambience also at these restaurants: Wallter’s, Tschebull and Meatery!
Summary: A Place that Enchants
The “Süllberg” is more than just a restaurant – it is an experience that impresses with its location, the atmosphere and, of course, the excellent cuisine. The food arrived quickly, which was certainly due to the quiet day, but I am convinced that the quality remains consistently high. For anyone looking for a special culinary experience, I can warmly recommend “Süllberg”. Nevertheless, it should also be mentioned that the restaurant is not cheap. But of course you pay for the view and the quality.
