In Short
In search of a culinary adventure, we came across Chingu in charming Winterhude. This restaurant combines Korean cuisine with modern flair, creating a beautiful atmosphere. From the location to the service, Chingu has everything your heart desires and invites you to an unforgettable taste experience.
A Place Full of Charm and Atmosphere
Chingu is located in the picturesque area of Winterhude, one of Hamburg’s most charming districts. Getting there is very easy, as the restaurant is easily accessible by bus. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can feel the attention to detail: bright decorative elements and stylish lamps hanging from the ceiling create an inviting and cozy atmosphere. The small winter garden and outdoor area offer additional space to enjoy your meal to the full – perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or family.
A special highlight is the open view into the kitchen. Here you can watch the chefs at work as they work with precision and care. It is immediately apparent that hygiene and quality are very important at Chingu. The service is friendly and attentive, if not outstanding – but sometimes it’s just what you need if you simply want to feel good in a relaxed atmosphere.

Our Lunchtime Discoveries
At lunchtime, Chingu offers a menu with attractive prices that includes a variety of delicious dishes. Here is our selection, which we can warmly recommend:
- Bibimbap – €11.50 (Without sesame oil)
- Korean Fried Chicken (6 pieces) with Sweet Chili Sauce – €12.50
- Galaxy Milky Way – €5.50
- Jasmin Fountain – €5.50
Explosions of Flavor and Fresh Ingredients
Our lunch at Chingu was great! The bibimbap not only impressed with its visual presentation, but also with its good taste. I’m not a fan of sesame oil and after a bit of back and forth, I was able to order it off. The mix of crunchy vegetables, delicious tofu and spicy rice harmonized perfectly and left nothing to be desired.
The Korean fried chicken was another highlight of our visit. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it impressed with every single bite. The sweet chili sauce gave the dish a pleasant spiciness that went perfectly with the tender chicken.
We would particularly like to point out the homemade lemonades. The Jasmine Fountain was a refreshing experience – not too sweet and with a lovely floral taste. The Galaxy Milky Way, on the other hand, was a little sweeter but still very pleasant and rounded off our meal perfectly. Both drinks were not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also visually a real eye-catcher.
A Glimpse into the Future
Chingu offers much more than just the dishes we tried. The menu includes bento boxes, various starters, Korean stews (jjigae), grilled specialties and desserts. There really is something to suit everyone’s taste here. And the good news doesn’t stop there: breakfast and brunch will soon be available (as of 04.08.2024).
Right next door is the Kazu Ramen Bar, which cooperates with Chingu. Here you can enjoy both ramen and Chingu’s delicious dishes. The tables are arranged slightly differently, which makes for an interesting mix and makes the culinary experience even more varied.
Conclusion: A Must for Fans of Korean Cuisine
Our visit to Chingu absolutely convinced us. The fresh ingredients, the delicious food and the pleasant atmosphere make Chingu a must for all lovers of Korean cuisine. We are already looking forward to our next visit and can hardly wait to try more delicacies from the varied menu. Until then, we wish you lots of fun discovering and enjoying!
