A Touch of Paradise Near the Alster

Monkey Beach is located at the “Mühlenkamp” stop for Alster-Touristik boats. This means you can easily arrive by boat or even moor up directly with your own SUP, pedal boat or similar. This beautiful platform on the water is equipped with comfortable benches and chairs, so you can choose between sunny and shady spots – depending on your mood. It is pleasantly quiet, especially at lunchtime, but in the evening, especially on beautiful summer nights, the place fills up with people.

Two Worlds, one Delight

The concept of Monkey Beach is simply great. In the lower section, you can get delicious drinks that are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Directly above you will find Kailua Poke, where you can put together a fresh, healthy poke bowl. The combination of the two is simply unbeatable.

Fresh Bowls and Refreshing Cocktails

We decided to enjoy the best of both worlds: a delicious poke bowl from above and two refreshing cocktails from below. The poke bowl was really great – fresh ingredients, crunchy vegetables and juicy tofu, perfectly balanced and super light. Just the thing for a sunny day by the water.

Now to the drinks. The No Gin & Basil was pleasantly sweet, perhaps a little too sweet for some, but definitely refreshing. Our highlight, however, was the Wild Monkey Spritz. The mix of Prosecco and raspberry was tangy and not too sweet, just the right balance for a relaxed afternoon.

Monkey Beach is a small oasis on the edge of Uhlenhorst. The relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating and the option to choose between sun and shade make it a perfect spot for any time of day. Whether you moor up by boat or just stroll past, it’s definitely worth a stop here. Try the fresh poke bowls and treat yourself to one of the delicious cocktails – you won’t regret it!
